Abstract: Induction motors are electromechanical energy conversion machines widely used in ma nufacturing processes because of their robustness, low maintenance cost and long service life. The wide application of these machines makes relevant studies of their behavior and application relevant. This work presents analyzes of the thermal behavior in three-phase induction motors submitted to continuous load variation. The analyzes are performed through the collection of thermal data in accordance with the Brazilian Standard - Rota ting Electric Machines NBR 17094-1 2013, where the method of embedded temperature detectors was applied. In practical implementations, the LM35 temperature sensor with cable shielding system and data signal ?ltering is used since the magnetic ?eld inside the machines a?ects the temperature readings. For the variation of the mechanical load, bra king devices are applied to the motor, responsible for the application of resistant torque. The tests consisted of electromagnetic braking systems applied to a 3 CV induction motor from the manufacturer ”Equacional”, in addition to the application of disc brake systems two 3 CV motors from the manufacturer WEG were used. The evaluation of the thermal behavior of the motors in di?erent load regimes reveals the critical points of temperature in the induction motors, allowing estimates of useful life and ratifying the malfunctions of the overheating.
